Wilde Life: Kim Wilde newsletter #9 of 2023
Finally, some Kim Wilde activity again, we hear you sigh! It has been a bit quiet from the Wilde camp recently, but as you can see in this newsletter, there is some news to report after all.
It’s been a while since we sent out a newsletter, for various reasons. It looks like we’re gonna send out newsletters more regularly in the coming weeks. Via Substack you will receive the newsletter in your mailbox whenever we send one out, and you can also read the newsletters in the Substack app. We hope you enjoy our regular updates!
Let’s Rock the Moor
Yesterday Kim and her band performed live in Cookham during the Let’s Rock the Moor festival. Other artists appearing were the Boomtown Rats, Nik Kershaw, Carol Decker from T’pau and OMD among others.
You can see Kim’s set list and some photos from the gig on this page on Wilde Life.
Scarlett welcomes Goldie
Kim’s niece (and backing singer) Scarlett has given birth to a beautiful baby girl on 11 May. Goldie Amanda Konistis was born at 4.06pm weighing 7.7lbs. They spent a week in hospital and finally went home on 18 May. Obviously Scarlett and Chris will be taking their time to focus on their beautiful daughter, but Scarlett has indicated that she will be part of the KW band in due time again. We’re pretty sure she will be showered with gifts when that happens.
Wilde Winter Acoustic 2023 dates announced
In December, Kim will be touring the UK with another round of her ‘Wilde Winter Acoustic’ shows. Between 10 and 15 December she will be playing six shows in Wolverhampton, Stroud, London, Bury St Edmunds, Holmfirth and Sunderland. You can find these dates - and a load of other ones - including links to ticket vendors on kimwilde.com’s Tour Dates page.
Kim Wilde in Kult magazine
The German magazine Kult! features an interview with Kim. The three page article covers the usual subjects, focusing mainly on Kim’s career during the 1980’s. The magazine is all about music, TV and entertainment from the 1960’s 1970’s, 1980’s and 1990’s and comes in a glossy cover - which also features Kim.

WildeTapes looking for videos
The YouTube channel WildeTapes is still going strong, fortunately, and regularly posting some vintage Kim Wilde video for you to enjoy. If you want to support the channel, the best way is to send over video tapes with (good) Kim Wilde recordings from the past. You can read WildeTapes’ appeal over here on Twitter.
Bonus video: Child come away
Speaking of WildeTapes, our bonus video comes from that channel. It’s an upscaled version of Kim’s appearance in the French TV programme Cadence 3 on 16 February 1983, where she performed ‘Child come away’, singing live to the instrumental version of the track. You can see the video here.
